American Human Development Project (Measure of America, Social Science Research Institute)
The American Human Development Project by Measure of America at the Social Science Research Institute aims to stimulate fact-based dialogue about key issues in the United States. By providing easy-to-use, methodologically sound tools for social science research and human development, Measure of America at the Social Science Research Council helps generate understanding around well-being and opportunity in American communities. Going beyond the numbers, the Council uses partnership and participatory processes to spur meaningful dialogue about inequality and access to opportunity across ideological divides. The Mapping America project relates its own indicators to the Sustainable Development Goals in order to achieve global alignment in working toward these critical areas of progress.
Artists for Humanity
Artists for Humanity, a Boston-based social enterprise that uses creativity and design and vehicles for social change, hires teens for art and design projects. The mission is to bridge economic, racial, and social divisions by providing under-resourced urban youth with the keys to self-sufficiency through paid employment in art and design and it is one of the largest employers of youth in the City of Boston. The teen artists collaborate with professional mentors across multi-media studios including graphic design, video and motion, photography, 3D design and painting. Artists for Humanity thereby offers a wide range of fine art and design services for hire.
The Center for Interfaith Action on Global Poverty
The Center for Interfaith Action on Global Poverty was launched in 2008 to improve the capacity and the effectiveness of the faith communities to reduce poverty and disease. The Center was founded by Edward W. Scott Jr. who, among other initiatives, also founded the Center for Global Development as well as Friends of the Global Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Its programs operated in Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa and the United States. In 2012, the Center launched “Ten Promises to Our Children”, a commitment to engage religious communities around the world to save children’s lives through ten concrete and specific acts. These promises were launched together with Religions for Peace. In 2013, the Center for Interfaith Action officially became part of Religions for Peace.

HarvestPlus improves the lives of millions of people around the world by facilitating a global effort to end hidden hunger as caused by a lack of essential vitamins and minerals in the diet. By applying the process of biofortification, the density of vitamins and minerals of crops increase and, when consumed, solve the problem of vitamin and mineral lacking diets. HarvestPlus leads the world in biofortication technologies and shares them widely to contribute to public health in Central and South America, SubSaharan Africa and South Asia. The food-based approach of HarvestPlus targets some of the most vulnerable populations around the world to reduce malnutrition and improve health outcomes as well as develop creative solutions to nutrition and agriculture to maximize outcomes in sustainable and cost-effective ways. HarvestPlus is part of the CGIAR Research Program on Agriculture for Nutrition and Health.

icddr,b is one of the world’s leading global health research institutes. Based in Dhaka, Bangladesh , icddr,b is working to solve public health problems facing low and middle income countries through innovative scientific research. By developing, testing and assessing the implementation of interventions specifically designed for resource-poor settings, the research institute aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people living in the world’s poorest nations. icddr,b invented oral rehydration therapy, which has saved more that 50 million lives world wide in the past 30 years. Initially, the organization’s focus was on diarrheal disease but has since branched out to study infectious diseases like cholera and threats to public health such as climate change as well as methods of healthcare delivery and universal health coverage.
International Association of National Public Health Institutes
The International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI) is a member organization of government agencies working to improve disease prevention and response nationally and globally. IANPHI links and strengthens government agencies responsible for public health, leveraging their experience and expertise to improve health systems. IANPHI is the only organization that strengthens national public health institutes using an evidence-based international framework for development. Still growing, the association is comprised of 109 members in 95 countries and their collective work has benefitted more than five billion people on six continents since 2006.
International Center for Religion and Diplomacy
The International Center for Religion and Diplomacy (ICRD) builds the skills and capacity of peacebuilders of all faiths to address the root causes of identity-based conflict and violent extremism in their communities. International Food Policy Research Institute
The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) reduces poverty, hunger and malnutrition in developing countries by providing research-based policy solutions since 1975. IFPRI is constantly addressing unprecedented challenges in the food policy landscape and develops new research to respond to and resolve these challenges. Partnerships, communications, capacity strengthening, and data and knowledge management are essential for transforming IFPRI’s research from action to impact. IFPRI focuses on ending hunger and malnutrition within the context of climate change, food supply, agricultural institutions and food system trade industries, all via a gender lens. With 600 employees working in over 50 countries, IFPRI is deeply engaged in agricultural research for development and is an active partner of the worldwide CGIAR network.

MedShare International
MedShare strengthens global health and health systems by sourcing and directly delivering surplus medical supplies and equipment to communities in need around the world. The work of MedShare improves the quality of life of people, communities and the planet by providing these materials and capacity building on disaster relief, primary care, maternal health, infectious disease control, and biomedical equipment. To provide biomedical equipment to countries in need, MedShare take unused supplies and equipment from the US then trains and equips healthcare professionals, engineers and medical mission teams to use it. By working with hospitals, distributors and manufacturers to collect and redistribute medical products to qualified healthcare facilities in medically underserved communities, MedShare not only impacts countless lives but has diverted 17.5 million pounds of material from US landfills. MedShare has donated $210 million in aid, treated 20 million patients, equipped 766,000 healthcare professionals and sent 1,600 shipments of lifesaving medical products to 100 countries.
The Menil Foundation
The Menil Foundation was established in 1955 as an educational organization dedicated to arts and the humanities. The founders, John and Dominique de Menil, believed that art is essential to the human experience. To facilitate access to this ideal, The Menil Foundation fosters direct personal encounters with works of art. In 1987, The Menil Collection opened and today still welcomes all visitors free of charge to see the collection, museum buildings and surrounding green spaces in Houston, Texas.
The Metropolitan Opera Association
The Metropolitan Opera in New York City is a vibrant home for the most creative and talented singers, conductors, composers, musicians, stage directors, designers, visual artists, choreographers, and dancers from around the world. The Metropolitan Opera has always engaged the world’s most important artists, giving the US premieres of some of the most important operas in the repertory. Since 1980, “The Met” has conducted a young artist development program, The Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, to train a new generation of celebrated American artists. Founded in 1883, the Metropolitan Opera Association stages more than 200 opera performances a year. More than 800,000 people attend the performances in the opera house during the season, and millions more experience the Met through new media distribution initiatives and state-of-the-art technology.

mothers2mothers is an international nonprofit working to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa. The organization believes in the power of mothers to end pediatric AIDS and thus trains, employs, and empowers mothers living with HIV to bring health and hope to other mothers, their families, and communities. “Mentor Mothers” work in local communities and at understaffed health facilities to ensure that women and their families get the health advice and medication they need, are linked to the right clinical services, and are supported on their treatment journey. Since launching in 2001, mothers2mothers has saved hundreds of thousands of lives, created thousands of jobs, and given health and hope to some of the most marginalized in communities across ten African nations.

The U.S. Diplomacy Center at the U.S. Department of State
The United States Diplomacy Center will be the first museum dedicated to telling the story of American diplomacy. Being developed in Washington, DC at the headquarters of the U.S. State Department, the museum is scheduled to be fully open in 2022 and the preview exhibit can already be visited. The Diplomacy Center aims to inspire discovery of diplomacy’s pivotal role in the peaceful promotion of our national security, prosperity, and global leadership. The museum will tell the story of the history, practice, and challenges of American diplomacy through exhibitions and programs.
